There’s nothing like a cute kid to cheer up a parent — especially when that parent is dealing with worries about her own dad’s health.
Bristol Palin had the smiling face of her 11-week-old daughter Sailor Grace to put her in a good mood Wednesday morning — something that undoubtedly helped her cope with the idea of her dad Todd Palin recovering in an Alaskan hospital after a serious snowmobile injury on Sunday.
‘Doesn’t get much better than this,’ the 25-year-old captioned a photo of the baby girl on Instagram, along with two hearts-in-the-eyes emojis.

Joy: She wrote that it ‘doesn’t get much better than this’ alongside two happy-in-love emojis
Doting uncle: Yesterday, she shared this photo of her brother Trig, seven, and her 11-week-old daughter sound asleep
Fit mom: Bristol, who relied on 310 weight loss shakes to shed pounds postpartum, shared this photo of herself on Tuesday morning
In the double photo, Sailor is seen wearing a pair of green overalls over a white long-sleeve shirt. She’s smiling wide, and seems to only have eyes for her mommy as Bristol touches her arm.
Yesterday, the mother-of-two shared another picture of the little one, this time of her sleeping with Bristol’s seven-year-old brother Trig.
In the photo, Sailor is wearing a white onesie featuring pink and yellow owls and matching pink trim as she sleeps with her fists bundled up next to her chin. Meanwhile, a shirtless Trig has his face nestled into Sailor’s back as he rests soundly behind her. Bristol captioned the image with a series of heart emojis
The young mom, who was at her 51-year-old father’s cabin in Matanuska-Susitna at the time of her dad’s accident, was presumably watching her little brother while Todd was first hospitalized.
Family photo: Bristol took Sailor Grace to visit her father Todd’s cabin for the first time this weekend. Todd, 51, is pictured holding his granddaughter while posing next to his seven-year-old son Trig before his accident
Bundled up: The 25-year-old also shared a snapshot of her seven-year-old son Tripp wearing a helmet on Sunday night, but its unclear if he was with his grandfather at the time of the crash
Around the same time, Bristol shared the picture, her mother, former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, posted a message about Todd’s current condition on Facebook.
‘Todd Palin is in intensive care at an Alaskan hospital with injuries including multiple broken and fractured ribs, broken shoulder blade, broken clavicle, knee/leg injuries’ and a collapsed lung, she wrote. ‘He is presently back in surgery to repair multiple fractures.
‘Thank you for your prayers for a speedy recovery. We, as his wife and children, appreciate your respect for our privacy during this time. Knowing Todd, once he’s cognizant, he’ll probably ask docs to duct tape him up and he’ll call it good. He’s tough.’
People later revealed that Todd underwent six hours of surgery to repair the damage.
Bristol also shared a similar sentiment to her mother on Instagram earlier that night when she posted a photo of her dad, writing that he is the ‘toughest guy’ she knows.
‘Thank you for all the love and support,’ she added.
Close call: Sarah Palin, who is pictured with her husband in 2007, revealed that Todd is in intensive care at an Alaskan hospital with multiple injuries, including broke ribs, after his snowmobile wreck on Sunday
Staying focused: After the accident, Sarah spoke at a Trump town hall in Tampa on Monday afternoon to campaign for Donald ahead of Tuesday’s primary election in Florida before her flight back to Alaska
Getting votes: While her daughter, son, and grandchildren were with her husband in Alaska, the former Republican vice presidential candidate was campaigning for Donald at the Florida Strawberry Festival
Support system: Bristol bundled Sailor and Tripp in snowsuits to root on her father Todd (back center) at the start of his 23rd Iron Dog snowmobile race in February
Over the weekend, Bristol shared photos of Sailor and her seven-year-old son Tripp enjoying their time with their grandfather in Alaska.
‘Sailor’s first time at Papa’s cabin,’ Bristol captioned an image of her father cuddling Sailor while posing alongside Trig, who has Down syndrome.
In the sweet family photo, which was shared on Sunday, Todd is sitting on a folding chair with his one arm holding his granddaughter and the other thrown around his son.
Later that night, Bristol posted a snapshot of a smiling Tripp wearing a helmet, a jacket by the popular outdoor retailer The North Face, and matching black gloves, although it is unclear if he was with his grandfather at the time of his crash.
‘And my future Iron Dog Boy #openface #handmedowns,’ she wrote, referencing the grueling 2,000-mile off-road snowmobile race her father Todd completed last month.
The image appears to have been taken before Todd’s accident, which occurred that night. According to the Alaska Distpatch, first responders were called to a property where had been taken after the crash at around 8pm local time on Sunday.
All smiles: Before they headed to grandpa Todd’s cabin, Bristol snapped this photo of Tripp proudly posing in front of a personalized blanket that he was gifted
Girls’ getaway: Bristol (center) and her sisters Willow (right), 21, and Piper (left), 14, took Sailor to Hawaii last week for some fun in the sun
Sarah, who was campaigning for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump at the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City over the weekend, was scheduled to speak at an early Donald Trump event in Florida on Monday, but it was canceled just seven minutes before it was set to start.
However, Bristol’s mom did stop by a Trump town hall in Tampa to speak on Donald’s behalf at rally that afternoon before she flew back to Alaska to be with her husband as the Florida primaries take place on Tuesday.
After what was presumably a difficult 24 hours for her family, Bristol returned to Instagram on Tuesday morning to share a photo of herself sipping on a 310 weight loss shake.
‘Always on the run, but I never leave the house without my #310shake!’ she wrote. ‘I’ve got to keep lean and energized! @310nutrition #fitmom #yum.’
Look of love: Bristol shared this adorable photo of Tripp and Sailor smiling at each other after she and her daughter returned home from Hawaii. Tripp was believed to be with his father Levi Johnston at the time
Strong message: Bristol shared this photo of herself with Sailor and Tripp as she explained that she will never keep her children from having a ‘positive relationship with their fathers’
After giving birth to Sailor on December 23, Bristol revealed in February that she was exercising and relying on the brand’s protein shakes to lose the ‘last few pregnancy pounds’.
Just last week, Bristol and her sisters Willow, 21, and Piper, 14, were enjoying a girls’ getaway in Hawaii with Sailor while it was believed that Tripp was spending time with his father Levi Johnston, who recently reached an agreement with his former fiancee to co-parent their child after their seven-year custody dispute.
However, Tripp was undoubtedly excited to be reunited with his half-sister Sailor, whose father is Bristol’s Marine ex-fiance, Dakota Meyer, 27.
After returning home from vacation last Wednesday, Bristol proudly shared a photo Tripp and Sailor smiling at each other, and the image clearly shows how much the infant already adores her big brother.
